Worship in Spirit & Truth Part 5 - "Worshipping Worship
"John 4:23 - But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him."
So now here's the hard part that I want us to realise, and it really blew me away when God revealed this to me: "There are many of us who are worshipping worship", let me repeat that: There are many of us who are busy "worshipping worship". God is certainly not pleased with us, and it makes Him angry. He should be the center of attraction, and He should be the one that we concentrate on. We concentrate too much on being the best, leading worship the best, having the best musicians and being better than the church down the street. Some of our worship leaders today think that they are it. They think they are doing it for the people, they think that their band and singers are the best. Some people even go further and say we prefer him or her to lead worship, because when they lead we feel the power of God. Do we notice how silly it sounds? How can a human person create the presence of God for you? We must be careful not to put too much emphasis on the people, music and other things. We must please God, and Him alone. We must remember that Lucifer himself was the Chief Worship Leader in heaven. He thought that he was the man. He was in fact doing such a good job at leading worship that he later thought that he also should get some of the glory. I want to say to Worship Leaders today that you must die, it is all about Jesus, and it is nothing about you. God is only using you as a vessel for the purpose of leading and ushering His unto His throne. Keep your focus right and let your eyes be fixed on Jesus. We as the people of God must remember that if God is not getting the glory then somebody else or something else is getting it. It means that when we are worshipping worship, we're not glorifying God. And if we are not glorifying God then who are we really worshipping? Don't be surprise if Lucifer sometimes come and visit your worship services to come and get some of the glory. Don't let the music and singers, or worhip leader move you and bring you into a feeling of emotions, because worship shouldn't be emotional, it's a spiritual thing. Become aware of God's presence, feel it and then see God as you enter in.
